Beekeeping is an agricultural use and will qualify for agricultural productivity tax valuation if the land is used to raise or keep bees for pollination or for the production of human food or other tangible products having a commercial value. 

The land used must not be less than 5 or more than 20 acres. Keep in mind that the state-mandated 5 acre minimum must be entirely dedicated to an agricultural use (beekeeping), and not include improvements (residential structures). Each appraisal district will designate some amount of land (0.25 to 1.0+ acres) for the improvements.

The intensity requirement (number of hives required to qualify) is set by each appraisal district and varies greatly across the state.
